HANDICAPPED PLACARDS

 

Definition

An individual who has lost the use of one or more limbs or is temporarily disabled as to be unable to ambulate without the aid of an assisting device or his/her mobility is otherwise temporarily limited as certified by a physician.

 

 

Application For Temporarily Handicapped Placard

Application can be picked up at police headquarters 24/7.

 

  • This placard is temporary (good for 6 months) and renewable for one additional 6 month period at no additional fee. If a permanent placard is desired, the application must be obtained from the New Jersey Division of Motor Vehicles.

 

  • Applicant must complete all sections of the left side of the application EXCEPT the first and last lines, then take the application to his/her physician to complete the right side and return it to us between 9 a.m. & 3 p.m. with a check for $4.00 made out to "New Jersey Division of Motor Vehicles".

 

  • If a renewal is necessary, please call first to be certain the Chief is available to sign placard.
