Community Oriented Policing
The Chatham Township Police Department practices Community Oriented Policing. This is a philosophy of pairing officers with a particular neighborhood, much like the 'Beat Cop' of years ago. Though all officers patrol the entire Township, each officer is responsible for all 'quality of life' issues in his district. To learn more Click here.

Operation Reassurance
Seniors who live alone can enroll in this free program. Participants call headquarters every day by 10:00am to let us know that they are alright. If they fail to call, we call them. If there is no answer, we send an officer to check on them.
Call (973) 377-0100 to sign up.

D.A.R.E.
Specially trained officers teach the nationally recognized Drug Abuse Resistance Education program to fifth graders at the Lafayette School.

Neighborhood Watch
Police officers can't be everywhere. We rely on you and your neighbors to be our 'eyes and ears' and to watch out for each other. For more information call (973) 377-6928.
